ABOUT lauren psyk

Lauren Psyk is a Brighton based photographer, blogger, content creator and marketer working throughout the South East.

I specialise in natural, outdoor, creative portraits and headshots full of personality. I also shoot small, creative events and marketing photography for freelancers, entrepreneurs, companies and charities. I love telling the story of people and brands.

Clients I've worked with include: Hey Saturday, Stonewall, Royal British Legion, Spinal Injuries Association, Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce, Brighton & Hove City Council and Platinum Business Magazine to name a few.

Some photography career highlights include:

  • Being awarded two first prizes in the One Planet City documentary photography competition
  • A stint as a press photographer, which gave me a keen eye for a great editorial shot
  • A commission from the Royal British Legion as a street photographer on their social media campaign #KissForVEDay, which resulted in PR coverage in five national papers
  • A commission from the Spinal Injuries Association to document their vital work in hospitals
  • Being a regular photographer for multi-award winning photography agency Hey Saturday

I am a CIM-qualified communications and marketing professional with fifteen years' experience working with high profile brands.

I specialise in writing engaging copy for blogs, websites and articles. I'm an expert at adopting the personality of a brand and writing in a tone of voice that speaks to their target audience.

Before going freelance in 2012, I managed communications campaigns across the private, public and charity sectors. Brands and companies I've worked with include: Metro Newspaper, Department for Transport, The Ellen MacArthur Foundation, The Anne Frank Trust, Back Up Trust and Hey Saturday.

My blog writing for Hey Saturday has recently won two national blogging awards.

As an English graduate from the University of Reading you can be sure about the quality of my written work.

In my free time I can be found drawing, painting or volunteering for Crohn's and Colitis UK.
